Introduction
We visited India in 2007. Liz was working for VSO in Mumbai and we could not miss the opportunity; we spent two weeks or so with Liz and included a Naturetrek holiday to Goa at the end. The holiday of a lifetime and more beside. We crammed more into the three weeks than we could possibly have expected.

Monday 5th November
We flew out on an Emirates flight and Liz picked us up at the airport and took us to the Rama Krishna hotel in Vile Parle in pleasant suburbs of Mumbai and near to where Liz lived and worked. We had a look around Vile Parle but there was never enough time.

The first evening liz took us by train to the centre of Mumbai - a three quarter of an hour journey at a cost of about 9 pence. It was not too crowded going into town and we arrived at Victoria Terminus. We had a grand tour of some of the Victorian buildings in the City.

On the train
Tuesday 6th November
A one hour car drive into town passing the Dhobi Ghats (the clothes washing area) and arriving at the Haji Ali Mosque. Lunch with Liz's work colleagues. Ghandi's house Crawford Market, Queen's Necklace Beach. That evening a meal out with Maraj and Shika.

Seb arrives John not well - fasting today.
Friday 9th November
Jean went to lunch at the children's home. John can't take the pace (and also had dysentery!) - fasting all day (again)
Saturday 10th November
Pack and fly to Jodhpur.
