Spain - 2012 and 2013

Both these trips were very enjoyable but neither particularly memorable not least of all because my hip was having an increasing impact on my mobility.
Spain 2012
We left the England in May of 2012, later than normal, and Spain was hotter an drier. Our first call was Castrojeriz; we had stayed at this campsite before and liked it. This stay though was marred but Jean being bitten by a dog while we exploring the castle. This is when we were almost overwhelmed by the help and friendliness of the campsite owner, Gabriel, and the efficiency local health centre.
From there we drove to Monfrague where we stayed several days and then on to the campsite at Horcajo de los Montes, Mirador de Cabañeros. http://www.campingcabaneros.com/en/. It was here that we realised that we were really limited not knowing any Spanish; we went to Spanish lessons later in the year and are still going (2016).
From here we went to Trujillo where we stayed at a Casa Rural El Recuerdo http://www.casaruralelrecuerdo.com/, that is run by a very pleasant couple Claudia y Martin Kelsey OBE. From there we went to Tordesillas where we stayed at the Parador; this was very disappointing. Our bill got mixed up with someone else’s and their dinner was included on our bill (we had eaten in the town) along with other sundries that we had not had and the breakfast was very poor.
Then on to a few nights at Castrojeriz and finally to Michel’s before catching the ferry at Bilbao.
