Birds seen in Barbados

Barbados was not intended as a birding trip but turned out a lot better than we might have expected.

I think we saw all the species that we might have hoped for and got some particularly good views of some more elusive birds notabley the green heron and the yellow warbler. The best site by far was the Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary and by comparison the rest of the Island was rather thin on the ground although we did add a few ticks to the list (if I had made one!). Apart from those photographed below we also saw brown pelican, magnificent frigate birds, belted kingfisher and moorhen; and perhaps some others that I have forgotten. The toucan and the scarlet ibis were in an aviary at the Graeme Hall sanctuary.
