Scotland - 2008

This was the first serious trip out with the 127 camper. We had let the house to the Hall family and set off - first stop at Jim Beattie's at Duror in Argyll.

We then drove north to Sutherland and after a couple of days reached Durness. We had a couple of fine days on the way north (see pics below) but by the time we reached Durness the weather was indifferent - cool with occasional rain. I had hoped to climb Ben Hope on our way back but we drove down Glen Hope without seeing the mountains.

After a brief overnight stop on a forestry track in Ardnamurchan we ended up at Mull and had four excellent days. Then a night back in Duror before returning to South Low.

Mull was definitely the highlight. We stayed at a campsite at Tobermory and also overnight on a beach on the west coast. The weather was very kind to us; wall-to-wall sunshine. We saw otters and white tailed eagles and also a distant view of a puffin.

We returned to Mull in 2009 and again the weather was splendid. We camped looking across to Iona.
